Be the first on your block to get your official Sun Cat National Championship Regatta T-shirt, ball cap, apron or mug!
Using my dictatorial powers as Head Jib Trimmer for the Sun Cat Nationals, I plan to make changes in the special rules that will govern our races from time to time. The object of every change will be to make the event more fun for all, and to enjoy the special characteristics of our beloved Sun Cats. Suggestions will be appreciated!
Because the evolution of the rules will probably turn out to be a funny process, I plan to update the rules page with comments rather than deleting or altering previous rules posts.
Local Punta Gorda Com-Pac dealership Gulf Island Sails has on order a Sunday Cat with a black hull, and they plan to race the boat in the Sun Cat Nationals if it has not sold before the regatta. If it sells, I hope they can get another in time!
Recognizing the importance of this event and having a good sense of humor, Com-Pac Yachts owner Gerry Hutchins kindly offered to feature our race on the company news page. We are now the only Sun Cat National Championship to be officially recognized by Com-Pac Yachts. OK, so maybe we were just officially noticed by Com-Pac Yachts…
I asked if the factory would like to participate in the regatta, and Gerry replied that they would try to bring a boat and race, but might not have one available. He said they would at least come to our BBQ steak dinner on Saturday night, so we are looking forward to the factory participation!
